Happy June Ya’ll! Seriously that’s how fast the first 6 months of this year has flown by.
Except for May, that was the longest month EVER!! Mainly because I was doing a coffee fast, guess what guys I made it! A whole 30 days with no coffee, who am I anymore?! I’m a girl that’s feeling super proud that who! I am actually going to wait for the perfect fancy cup of joe to celebrate this weekend. ☕️ Well now that I have successfully achieved my goal for March, let’s talk about my…
Goal #1 No added sugar.
Yep my entire family are going sugar-free in April. This was actually my husbands goal for April. He wants to go without any added/processed sugars. Being the wonderful wife I am I offered to join him…as long as I could still have wine ;). The kids just don’t have a choice since they live here. We are only worried about obvious “bad” sugar…candy, cakes, cookies, ice cream and such. I will still have honey and cream to sweeten my coffee.
Goal# 2 Lift heavy.
I’m pushing myself to my limits when it comes to lifting. Now that I’ve decided to reduce my race distance to strictly 5k’s I have more time to spend at the bar. Squatting, deadlifting and bench pressing. Lifting is my jam!
I going to cheat and put one of my March favorites here which is actually a person. I have been obsessed with watching Meg from @megsquats on YouTube. She is only adding fire to my passion for lifting.
Goal# 3 Lose Weight.
I was so excited to see that my body fat percentage has dropped to 21.4%. It’s still high but I was extremely overweight to begin with. I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel and these body fat percentage results are just the trick for keeping me motivated. If your goal is to lose weight, you should focus on body fat and not just scale weight. All bodybuilding professionals say that men will have their 6 pack abs when they get a body fat percentage below 10% and for women it’s below 15%. Today’s results show that I have built about 4 pounds of muscle and have lost over 4 pounds of body fat. The reason I was able to get this done is because I do slow and controlled weight lifting while eliminating all momentum and give all I got when doing cardio. I have also bought a great body fat scale monitor from UK, to keep track of all my body composition.
Goal # Read 3 books.
I want to read 3 books this month also, any suggestions?
That’s it for the goals…yes just three. Trying to keep things simple and attainable.
1. Nike Flyknit Running Shoes
Next in line are my Nike Flyknit running shoes. I literally live in these shoes. They are great for lifting, running and just casually looking cute. I am considering getting another pair in a different color soon.
2. Amazonian Clay Foundation by Tarte
In March… and currently, I am totally obsessed with the Amazonian Clay Foundation by Tarte.
This foundation has done wonders for my skin. I can see and feel a great improvement. It goes on smooth and I actually apply it with my fingers. It can be built to the coverage you desire which I really like. It is a little pricey but worth every cent.
I don’t know why I waited so long to try it. I picked mine up at Ulta. If you are looking for a great foundation try this one!
3. Macbook and Herschel Anchor sleeve
Last but not least is my new Macbook and Herschel Anchor sleeve. There’s really not too much to say about these except L-O-V-E
So that’s about it. I am looking forward to a new month and hopefully some warmer weather!
